Airsoft Weapon Mags Information
These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Info on Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would hold, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Information
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
High Capacity LMG Mag Information
Some airsoft AEG guns and light machine guns, or LMGs, use high capacity drum magazines. They can store up to 1000s of BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam during battlefield engagements.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Details
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon model and usable between various submachine guns. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own customized design depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the mags frequently come with builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns house gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft pistol mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
