Airsoft Weapon Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally stored in the weapon’s mag. These mags generally attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft weapon mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
About Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would store, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Details About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, GBB, and HPA guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines Info
Airsoft rifle mags are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Information
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon design and usable between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are developed similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG mags also can be found in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines typically come with builtin gas storage or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns accumulate gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and enable the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun mags are often less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun magazines hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
