Airsoft Weapon Magazines Information
These mags usually attach to the airsoft weapon quite similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Details
Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are typically packed into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring creating tension. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. GBB, CO2, and HPA guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically keep the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns work. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s mag well.
High-Cap LMG Mag Information
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons use high-cap box magazines. They can hold up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam during engagements.
Info on Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are usually separated by gun design and functional in between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG magazines also are available in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made design depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the mags frequently feature builtin gas storage or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons house gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Details About Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun mags are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft pistol magazines store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
