Airsoft Gun Mags Info
These mags generally attach to the airsoft weapon the same as the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Info on Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is normally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are typically packed into these channels with a spring attached to the really far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. HPA, CO2, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are usually used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are directly related to the type of AEG rifle plus all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. See how the inner workings of airsoft weapons shoot BBs. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s mag well. For instance M4 style AEG mags would typically operate in all M4 style rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch made by Lancer Tactical or Elite Force. The same cross-compatibility would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can keep in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable in between different submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to function so the mags often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Info on Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun mags are often less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft pistol mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
