Airsoft Weapon Magazines Info
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically stored in the gun’s magazine. These magazines usually attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines are available in multiple kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These types most often apply to AEG magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would keep, which is normally around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One point to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas commonly restrict their use during games because of players shooting a lot of ammunition to spray-and-pray during games.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are generally packed into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring developing stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will typically save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft AEGs work. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are inserted into the gun’s mag well.
High-Cap LMG Magazine Facts
Some airsoft AEGs and machine guns use high capacity box magazines. They can store up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Details
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These mags use air and gas to work so the magazines typically come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Details About Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are frequently less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. Most airsoft handgun magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
