Airsoft Gun Magazines
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally stored in the gun’s magazine. These mags generally connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Type Details
Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, replicate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are generally packed into these channels with a spring attached to the really far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
