Airsoft Weapon Mags
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally housed in the gun’s magazine. These mags normally attach to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. CO2, GBB, and HPA guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically stash the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are related to the kind of AEG rifle and most of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how airsoft guns work. The AEG magazines are inserted into the weapon’s magazine well. For instance M4 design AEG magazines would normally operate in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same cross-compatibility would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can hold between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by gun model and usable between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are constructed similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG magazines also are available in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These mags use air and gas to work so the mags often come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
About Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. The majority of airsoft pistol magazines store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
