Airsoft Gun Mags Info
These magazines normally attach to the airsoft weapon comparable to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Details About Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags can be found in various kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These styles most often involve AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, replicate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep, which is usually around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft gamers the most storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. Something to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields typically restrict their use during games because of players shooting excessive amounts of ammo to spray-and-pray during games.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are typically pushed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. CO2, GBB, and HPA weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s magazine well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons like SAWs use high capacity box magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon design and functional in between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are developed to be cross-compatible. These SMG mags also can be found in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These mags use air and gas to work so the magazines typically come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft pistol magazines hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
