Airsoft Gun Mags
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally stored in the weapon’s magazine. These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Info on Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft gun mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically house the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Info
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
High-Cap LMG Mag Information
Some airsoft AEGs and squad machine guns use high capacity box magazines. They can store up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun model and functional in between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom design depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the mags often feature builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns accumulate gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and permit the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Details About Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft pistol magazines can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
