Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally stored in the weapon’s magazine. These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.

Airsoft gun mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically house the gas or feed air in through the mag.
