About Airsoft Gun Magazines
These mags usually connect to the airsoft gun the same as the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Type Information
Airsoft gun mags come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are usually filled into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Details About Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft AEGs shoot BBs. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEGs and machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can carry up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Information on Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by gun model and functional between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made style depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines frequently include builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun mags are frequently less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
