Airsoft Gun Mags Information
These mags usually connect to the airsoft gun quite similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Type Info
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would store, which is normally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently stash the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Information Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam during engagements.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by gun design and usable between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are constructed to be cross-compatible. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own customized style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines typically feature builtin gas storage or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and allow the pressurized air to stream in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Details About Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft handgun magazines hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
