Airsoft Weapon Mags
These mags typically connect to the airsoft gun quite similar to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Type Info
Airsoft gun mags are made in a few kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These kinds most often relate to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the volume of airsoft BBs a real weapon would hold in ammunition, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft gamers the greatest storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields frequently limit their use during games because they allow players using too much ammunition to spray and pray throughout gameplay.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are generally packed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating tension. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically keep the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Information Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are specific to the kind of AEG rifle plus most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Understand how airsoft weapons work. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s mag well. For example M4 design AEG mags would usually work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ gun with a 10 inch barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ made by Lancer Tactical or Elite Force. The same cross-compatibility would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can keep between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun design and usable in between different submachine guns. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to function so the mags frequently come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
About Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
