Airsoft Gun Magazines Information
These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun quite similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft weapon magazines come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would house, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, GBB, and HPA guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently house the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Details
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft AEGs shoot BBs. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s magazine well.
High-Cap LMG Magazine Info
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use high-cap box or drum magazines. They can carry up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Info
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by gun design and usable in between various submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made design depending on the airsoft gun brand. These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns house gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and enable the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft pistol mags are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft pistol magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
