Airsoft Weapon Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually held in the weapon’s mag. These mags usually attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Information
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are normally filled into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. HPA, CO2, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are directly related to the kind of AEG rifle and most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Understand how airsoft weapons work. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s magazine insertion area. For instance M4 style AEG mags would usually operate in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same would relate to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can hold in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags Info
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and usable between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to operate in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are constructed in a similar way. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB versions) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own customized design depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags frequently include builtin gas storage or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB weapons keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and allow the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Info
Airsoft handgun mags are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Most airsoft handgun magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
