Airsoft Gun Mags Information
These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun comparable to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are usually pushed into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are usually used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are relegated to the kind of AEG rifle plus all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Learn more about how airsoft weapons function. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s magazine insertion area. M4 design AEG magazines would typically work in all M4 design rifles from a brief CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same would relate to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can hold in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and functional in between various submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom design depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the mags typically feature builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and enable the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines Information
Airsoft pistol mags are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Pistols mags vary by type and often use CO2 or green gas (propane) stored in the magazine. The mag is inserted into the handgun’s grip like the basic firearm design. Pistol magazines are typically interchangeable between similar models of the very same airsoft gun producer, but are often not cross-brand compatible unless they are particularly designed for that function. Learning about the different styles and types of airsoft handguns can give you more insight to how their pistol mags function. Many airsoft pistol mags keep around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
