Airsoft Gun Mags
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally kept in the weapon’s mag. These magazines generally attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Type Details
Airsoft gun mags come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often keep the gas or feed air in through the mag.
About Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are related to the type of AEG rifle plus all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how the inner workings of airsoft guns shoot BBs. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well. M4 design AEG magazines would normally work in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ gun with a 10 inch barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can hold between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Info
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable in between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to work in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are constructed similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom design depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and enable the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Information on Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun mags are frequently less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft pistol mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
