Airsoft Gun Magazines Info
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally stored in the weapon’s magazine. These magazines generally attach to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the real weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would hold, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Details About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are usually loaded into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will typically save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s mag well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad machine guns use high capacity box or drum magazines. They can hold up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Information
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by gun design and usable between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to work in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are constructed to be cross-compatible. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own customized design depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the mags frequently include builtin gas storage areas or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns save gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and permit the pressurized air to stream in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
About Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
