About Morale Patches
Morale patches permit you to embellish your tactical gear in the field and are confidence boosters. These patches are styled around things like movie quotes, memes, amusing sayings, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style consists of and varies text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical groups, airsoft teams, and military units usually have a group patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, pick a basic group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your unit. You can use these group patches for team acknowledgment, awards, accomplishments, and rank advancements. It is an excellent method to build camaraderie within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Mission Specific Patches
Most special missions, military operations, or airsoft tournaments usually have their own patches. Unit members or game players who wear these patches have the prestige that comes from finishing that mission, task, or tour of duty. Mission patches are a great way to highlight who was there when the mission occurred.
Patch Attachment
A lot of morale patches connect to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is usually seen on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the bag, vest, or uniform panel. Other types of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which warms up to adhere to the positioning area. Stitch-on patches should use heavy duty matching thread and stitching machines to attach to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the supplier. The primary front of the patch generally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is generally a Velcro loop backing.
About Quik2U Morale Patches
Patches like the Quik2U Tactical Unicorn PVC Morale Patch 3 T x 4.5 W Dark Green/Gray made by the Quik2U generally hold up quite well. Make certain to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming frayed or unraveling. You can try to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread involves taking a threaded needle and stitching the thread back into the material a number of times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
It is an excellent plan to remove Velcro patches before washing since the wear and tear of a washing machine can be tough on the patch. To clean detachable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the equipment.
