About Morale Patches
Morale patches enable you to decorate your tactical equipment in the field and are team morale boosters. These patches are styled around things like movie quotes, memes, funny expressions, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style consists of and varies text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical groups, airsoft groups, and military units usually have a team patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, pick a basic group of patches consisting of a couple of morale patches which represent your unit.
Campaign Specific Patches
Most special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft competitions generally have their own patches. Unit members or airsoft players who display these patches have the prestige that comes from completing that mission, task, or operation. Mission patches are a good way to highlight who participated when the mission occurred.
Patch Attachment
A lot of morale patches connect to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. Sew-on patches must use heavy duty matching thread and sewing machines to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Kinds Of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the manufacturer. The primary front of the patch normally includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is usually a Velcro loop backing.
About O’Houlihans Morale Patches
Patches like the O’Houlihans – Mountain Wilderness Chevron Morale Patch – Iron on Patch made by the O’Houlihans typically hold up pretty well. Make sure to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming frayed or unraveling. You can attempt to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread involves taking a threaded needle and sewing the thread back into the material a number of times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
It is an excellent idea to take off Velcro patches before washing given that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be rough on the patch. To clean detachable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the equipment.
