About Morale Patches
Morale patches allow you to decorate your tactical gear in the field and are team morale boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, amusing phrases, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style includes and varies text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical teams, airsoft groups, and military units generally have a team patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, choose a basic group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your squad. You can use these team patches for team recognition, awards, achievements, and rank advances. It is a great way to develop camaraderie within your unit. You can also keep a few spares on-hand for exchanging patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied groups.
Mission Specific Patches
Many special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft competitions normally have their own patches. Unit members or players who use these patches have the reputation that comes from completing that mission, tour of duty, or assignment. When the mission occurred, Mission patches are a great way to highlight who attended.
Morale Patch Attachment
A lot of morale patches attach to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is normally seen on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the bag, uniform, or vest panel. Other types of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which warms up to adhere to the placement area. Stitch-on patches should use sturdy sewing machines and matching thread to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the maker. The main front of the patch normally includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is usually a Velcro loop backing panel.
About NLM Morale Patches
Patches like the 2 Pieces Florida Flag Patches Florida State Flag Patch Hook & Loop Tactical Military Embroidered Morale Florida Patch Set for Military Uniform Tactical Gears Bag Jacket Jeans Team Backpack Hat made by the NLM normally hold up quite well. Ensure to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can attempt to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life. Anchoring a thread includes taking a needle with the thread through the eye and sewing the thread back into the material a number of times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
Most morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches stitched onto uniforms or attached to gear. It is a good suggestion to take off Velcro patches prior to cleaning given that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be rough on the patch. To clean detachable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear. Clean with warm soapy water, rub gently, and pat the patch dry.
