About Morale Patches
Morale patches enable you to embellish your tactical gear in the field and are team comradery boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, funny phrases, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style consists of and varies text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical groups, airsoft groups, and military units typically have a group patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, select a standard group of patches including a couple of morale patches which represent your squad. You can use these team patches for group recognition, awards, accomplishments, and rank advances. It is a great method to develop camaraderie within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied groups.
Mission Specific Patches
Many special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft tournaments generally have their own patches. Unit members or airsoft players who display these patches have the reputation that comes from completing that mission, operation, or assignment. Mission patches are a great method to highlight who attended when the mission took place.
Morale Patch Attachment
The majority of morale patches attach to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. Stitch-on patches should use heavy duty sewing machines and matching thread to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends on the supplier. The main front of the patch normally includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is normally a Velcro loop backing panel.
About MilSpec Monkey Morale Patches
Patches like the MilSpec Monkey Mil-Spec Monkey If I Tell You Morale Patch made by the MilSpec Monkey generally hold up pretty well. Ensure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming frayed or unraveling. You can try to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread includes taking a threaded needle and sewing the thread back into the material several times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
Many morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches sewn onto uniforms or attached to equipment. However, it is a great suggestion to remove Velcro patches prior to cleaning since the wear and tear of a washing machine can be tough on the patch. To wash detachable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the equipment. Wash with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
