Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical teams, airsoft teams, and military units generally have a group patch or patch set. Choose a standard group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your unit if you are a team leader. You can use these group patches for team recognition, awards, achievements, and rank advancements. It is an excellent method to grow comradery within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for exchanging patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Campaign Specific Patches
The majority of special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft tournaments generally have their own patches. Unit members or game players who use these patches have the prestige that comes from finishing that mission, tour of duty, or assignment. When the mission occurred, Mission patches are a good method to highlight who participated.
Morale Patch Attachment
A lot of morale patches connect to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is generally found on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the uniform, vest, or bag panel. Other types of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which warms up to stick to the placement area. Sew-on patches should use strong matching thread and stitching machines to attach to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the maker. The main front of the patch usually includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is normally a Velcro loop backing panel.
