Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical groups, airsoft teams, and military units usually have a group patch or patch set. Choose a basic group of patches including a couple of morale patches which represent your unit if you are a group leader. You can use these team patches for team recognition, awards, achievements, and rank advancements. It is a great method to develop comradery within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Mission Specific Patches
A lot of special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft competitions generally have their own patches. Unit members or game players who display these patches have the status that originates from completing that assignment, campaign, or mission. When the mission happened, Mission patches are a good way to highlight who participated.
Patch Attachment
A lot of morale patches attach to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. Stitch-on patches need to use heavy duty matching thread and stitching machines to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the manufacturer. The main front of the patch generally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is normally a Velcro loop backing.
About Almost SGT Morale Patches
Patches like the for The Boys Patch Saturdays – Funny Tactical Military Morale Embroidered Patch Hook Backing made by the Almost SGT typically hold up pretty well. Make sure to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can try to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s service life. Anchoring a thread includes taking a sewing needle and sewing the thread back into the material several times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
The majority of morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches sewn onto uniforms or connected to equipment. However, it is a great choice to take off Velcro patches before cleaning considering that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be rough on the patch. To clean removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the gear. Clean with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
