About Morale Patches
Morale patches allow you to decorate your tactical equipment in the field and are team comradery boosters. These patches are styled around things like motion picture quotes, memes, funny expressions, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style includes and differs text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical teams, airsoft teams, and military units normally have a team patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, choose a basic group of patches including a couple of morale patches which represent your unit.
Mission Specific Patches
Most special missions, military operations, or airsoft competitions normally have their own patches. Unit members or game players who wear these patches have the status that originates from finishing that assignment, mission, or campaign. Mission patches are a good way to highlight who participated when the mission occurred.
Morale Patch Attachment
Most morale patches attach to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is typically located on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the vest, uniform, or bag panel. Other kinds of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to stick to the placement spot. Stitch-on patches need to use sturdy matching thread and sewing machines to attach to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the producer. The primary front of the patch normally includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is generally a Velcro loop backing area.
About 5ive Star Gear Morale Patches
Patches like the 5ive Star Gear Freedom Is Not Free Morale Patch, Multi-Color, One Size made by the 5ive Star Gear typically hold up pretty well. Make sure to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming frayed or unraveling. You can attempt to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s lifespan. Anchoring a thread includes taking a needle with the thread through the eye and sewing the thread back into the material numerous times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
It is a good plan to remove Velcro patches before washing since the wear and tear of a washing machine can be rough on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear.
