About Morale Patches
Morale patches allow you to embellish your tactical equipment in the field and are team morale boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, amusing expressions, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style varies and consists of text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical teams, airsoft squads, and military units usually have a group patch or patch set. Select a basic group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your unit if you are a group leader. You can use these team patches for team recognition, awards, accomplishments, and rank advances. It is an excellent method to build comradery within your unit. You can also keep a few spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Campaign Specific Patches
Most special missions, military operations, or airsoft competitions typically have their own patches. Unit members or airsoft players who use these patches have the status that originates from finishing that mission, task, or tour of duty. Mission patches are an excellent way to highlight who attended when the mission occurred.
Morale Patch Attachment
The majority of morale patches attach to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. Sew-on patches must use heavy duty matching thread and stitching machines to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the maker. The primary front of the patch normally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is normally a Velcro loop backing area.
About 5ive Star Gear Morale Patches
Patches like the 5ive Star Gear Zombie Apocalypse Morale Patches, Multi-Color, One Size made by the 5ive Star Gear generally hold up quite well. Make sure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can attempt to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread includes taking a threaded needle and stitching the thread back into the material numerous times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
Most morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches stitched onto uniforms or connected to gear. It is an excellent choice to take off Velcro patches prior to cleaning given that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be rough on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear. Wash with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
