Airsoft Weapon Magazines
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally held in the weapon’s magazine. These mags generally attach to the airsoft gun similar to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in a couple of styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds usually relate to AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep, which is normally around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. One point to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields often regulate their use during games due to players firing an excessive amount of ammo to spray and pray throughout gameplay.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are normally filled into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, HPA, and GBB guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
About Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are relegated to the type of AEG rifle plus most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how airsoft guns work. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well. For example M4 style AEG magazines would normally operate in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch made by Lancer Tactical or Elite Force. The same idea would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can hold in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by gun model and functional between different submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines typically come with builtin gas storage or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns accumulate gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and let the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft handgun mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
