Airsoft Weapon Magazines Details
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally housed in the weapon’s mag. These magazines usually connect to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Type Information
Airsoft weapon magazines come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Information on How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often house the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines Information
Airsoft rifle mags are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s mag well.
High Capacity LMG Mag Facts
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam during fights.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon design and functional between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to operate in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed similarly. These SMG mags also are available in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own customized style depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the magazines frequently include builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns save gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and let the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft pistol magazines are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft pistol magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
