Airsoft Gun Magazines Information
These mags typically attach to the airsoft gun the same as the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Info on Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically hold the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns like spring, AEG, and green gas rifles shoot BBs. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s mag well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and functional between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom-made style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines often come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
