Airsoft Weapon Mags

Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically kept in the weapon’s mag. These mags typically connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.

Airsoft Gun Magazine Type Details

Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, replicate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would store, which is normally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.

Airsoft Magazine Functionality Info

Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are typically loaded into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.

Airsoft Rifle Magazines

Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are relegated to the type of AEG rifle plus most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how airsoft weapons function. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag insertion area. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the mags typically include builtin gas storage areas or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and let the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
