Airsoft Weapon Mags

These magazines typically attach to the airsoft weapon comparable to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.

Airsoft Weapon Magazine Type Info

Airsoft weapon mags are manufactured in multiple styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These kinds usually involve AEG magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, replicate the supply of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would store, which is typically around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, offer airsoft players the greatest storage space with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields frequently prohibit their usage due to players using too much ammunition to spray-and-pray during gameplay.

Airsoft Mag Functionality Info

Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. HPA, GBB, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically hold the gas or feed air in through the magazine.

Airsoft Rifle Magazines Details

Airsoft rifle magazines are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Learn more about how airsoft weapons work. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag insertion area. For example M4 design AEG mags would typically work in all M4 style rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ made by Lancer Tactical or Elite Force. The exact same would apply to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can store in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.

Information on Airsoft SMG Magazines

Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon model and functional between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas storage or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.

Airsoft Handgun Mags

Airsoft pistol magazines are frequently less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
