Airsoft Weapon Magazines
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally housed in the gun’s magazine. These magazines usually connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. CO2, GBB, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically house the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Details
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad machine guns use high-cap box magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and functional between various submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own customized design depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines often include builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons accumulate gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
About Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft pistol magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
