Airsoft Gun Magazines
These magazines typically connect to the airsoft weapon quite similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Type Information
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would house, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Details About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Information Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The mags are specific to the kind of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Learn more about how airsoft guns function. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s magazine insertion area. For example M4 design AEG mags would typically operate in all M4 style rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch made by Lancer Tactical or Elite Force. The same cross-compatibility would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can keep in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and usable between various submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB versions) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags frequently include builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and let the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines Information
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft handgun mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
