Information About Airsoft Gun Mags
These magazines generally attach to the airsoft weapon the same as the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Type Info
Airsoft weapon magazines come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Details
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Info
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s magazine well.
About High-Cap LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad machine guns use high capacity box or drum magazines. They can carry up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam during engagements.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon model and functional between various submachine guns. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom design depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines typically feature builtin gas storage or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns accumulate gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
