Airsoft Weapon Magazines Details
These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
About Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store, which is normally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Details
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are generally packed into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. See how airsoft weapons function. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s magazine insertion area. M4 design AEG magazines would usually work in all M4 design rifles from a brief CBQ gun with a 10″ barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same cross-compatibility would apply to AK47 AEG mags with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can keep between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and functional between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to operate in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are built similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG magazines also are available in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own customized style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the mags typically include builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and help the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun magazines hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
