About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The VooDoo Tactical Men’s Empty Surgical Kit Pouch, Olive Drab is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other types of equipment. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to choose the mounting area and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only restriction ends up being which pouches to use and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and describes the pouches, panels, and straps which are applied in the MOLLE equipment system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the most effective MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft gear starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many various colors and camo patterns.
About the VooDoo Tactical Brand
The VooDoo Tactical brand is pretty widely known among airsoft players. They produce outstanding quality airsoft pouches and other gear. You can find answers on the brand’s site if you have questions about their airsoft pouches or customer service questions.
Types of VooDoo Tactical MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty basic in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is generally attached with Velcro. In addition to being available from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget-friendly methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few modifications. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most innovative kind of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are constructed into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine securely under stretchy bungees. In order to make mag access easier and mag reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch elements are usually made of ABS construction.
The VooDoo Tactical brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized bungee bands (depending on manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps safely hold the magazines so you do not need to worry about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
VooDoo Tactical MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches can be found in related designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most typically found variations of handgun pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six independently (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) make a spot for you to discard empty mags and other things into during gunfights. Some dump pouches also have drawstring closure tops for additional security while on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and includes the equipment airsoft players need when they have to patch up a cut or injury on the field. A first aid kit needs to contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create space for holding tools, folded maps, pens, and other field supplies. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. You can carry things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own separate pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft units talk on communications and radios devices on the field. Operating a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
