About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Tourniquet Including Holster for Duty Belt – Combat Military / First Responder Emergency Medical Application is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to equipment, vests, deployment bags, and other kinds of equipment. MOLLE straps provide a unique way for users to choose the mounting place and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only constraint becomes which pouches to adopt and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE represents Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE management system. Here are the three parts of the mounting system: MOLLE straps, panels, and pouches. Mounting tactical pouches is quick and easy. Just thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s take a look at a few of the best MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many different colors and camo patterns.

The Hero Designs brand is fairly well-known among airsoft players. They manufacture fairly good quality airsoft pouches and other products. You can find information on the brand’s site if you have questions about their airsoft pouches or customer service questions.
Types of Hero Designs MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty basic in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is generally attached with Velcro. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget friendly methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouch types are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to put in and extract magazines. This allows silent access and increased speed while accessing or reloading gun pouches. These mag pouches can be found in triple or single magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced kind of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine firmly under tension. In order to make mag access easier and mag changes faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are typically made of ABS materials.
The Hero Designs brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps safely hold the magazines so you don’t have to think about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Hero Designs MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches come in similar designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most typically found versions of handgun pouches. A lot of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same style.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 independently (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip recovery pouches) create a spot for you to discard empty mags and other gear into rapidly. These tactical pouches are generally carried on tactical belts in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty mags after you reload your gun, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tac gear while on the field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for added security while moving with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a gash or injury on the field. A first aid kit needs to contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make space for holding multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else generally. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own special pouch), and other gear you may need on the airsoft field or in a tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft groups use radios and communications devices in the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
