About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The The Mercenary Company NVG Battery Case & Counterweight Pouch + Cable Management System for Tactical Helmets is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE webbing straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to choose the installation place and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and describes the pouches, panels, and straps which are put to use in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the most effective MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft equipment beginning with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many various colors and camo patterns.
About the The Mercenary Company Brand
The The Mercenary Company brand is quite widely known among airsoft players. They create excellent quality airsoft equipment and other products. You can find information on the brand’s website if you have concerns about their airsoft pouches or consumer service questions.
Kinds Of The Mercenary Company MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ since they are quite standard in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is usually secured with Velcro. In addition to being readily available from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most economical methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches resemble the standard mag pouches with a couple of alterations. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to put in and remove magazines. This allows for quiet access and increased speed while accessing or reloading gun gear. These mag pouches can come in triple or single magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most advanced kind of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are constructed into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine securely under tension. In order to make mag accessibility easier and magazine swaps faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are typically made from ABS components.
The The Mercenary Company brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to worry about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
The Mercenary Company MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in related designs to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the standard design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this resilient Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most typically chosen variations of handgun pouches. Most of the same companies that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same style. This includes manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are exceptional quality, functional, and are duplicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. A pair of magazines are generally far better than one. This pouch shows this to be true because it saves you cash from having to purchase a pair of pouches. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all six separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never ever purchase pouches one at a time when you can get them together.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip collection pouches) create a spot for you to dump empty mags and other things into quickly during battle. These tactical pouches are typically carried in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty magazines after you reload your rifle, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the airsoft field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra closure security while moving with a pouch full of empty clips.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and contains the equipment airsoft players need when they need to patch up a gash or injury on the field. An emergency treatment pack should contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make space for carrying a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, and other field supplies. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. Think of things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own unique pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft groups employ communications and radios equipment on the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
