About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Stallion Leather OTCC Open Top Ballistic Nylon Handcuff Case Holder is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and inventions. They are the top option for securing military style pouches to range gear, tactical vests, deployment bags, and other types of military equipment. MOLLE straps provide a unique method for users to choose the mounting location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area. The only constraint becomes which pouches to put to use and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE represents Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are applied in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the installing system: MOLLE panels, straps, and pouches. Mounting tactical pouches is easy and fast. All operators have to do is thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out a few of the best MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft gun mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camo patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns consist of: forest, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Have a look at the example swatches below for what they look like:

Types of Stallion Leather MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘standard’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty basic in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually secured with Velcro. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most inexpensive ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouch types are similar to the basic mag pouches with a couple of adjustments. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to insert and extract magazines. This allows for silent access and increased speed while accessing or swapping weapon gear. These mag pouches can come in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access a lot easier and clip reloads faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch uses MOLLE connections so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Stallion Leather brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to be concerned about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Stallion Leather MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which come in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most typically used variations of pistol pouches. A lot of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the exact same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. The cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) create a space for you to discard empty mags and other gear into during fights. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra security while on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players need when they have to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. A first aid kit needs to include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make space for holding a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. You can carry things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own specific pouch), and other gear you might need on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft teams use radios and communications equipment on the field. Operating a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
