About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Pouch, BLK DBLE Staggered MAG, TRU is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE snap straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE straps offer a flexible way for users to choose the installation place and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location.
What is MOLLE?

The Tru-Spec brand is pretty popular in the world of airsoft. They manufacture excellent quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have questions about their gear or troubleshooting inquiries, you can find additional information on the brand’s site.
Types of Tru-Spec MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to carry on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty standard in design. They are among the initial designs of pouches designed to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is generally secured with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch style. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most affordable ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouch types are similar to the basic mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to insert and remove magazines. This enables quiet access and increased speed while reloading guns or accessing gear. These mag pouches can be available in triple or single magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access easier and clip swaps faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Tru-Spec brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cords or rubberized bungee bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to think about losing the mag during fast motions, crawling, climbing up things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Tru-Spec MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches can be found in related styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which come in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines effectively with this resilient Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently found versions of handgun pouches. Most of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same style. This includes companies like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are outstanding quality, functional, and are duplicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch including both a rifle and pistol magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make a space for you to discard empty mags and other gear into rapidly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra security while moving on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and contains the equipment airsoft players require when they have to patch up a cut or injury on the field. A first aid kit must include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else generally. Think spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other gear you might require on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft organizations put to use communications and radios equipment in the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
