About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Picowe 6 Pack Tactical Pouch Keychain Wallet, Professional EDC Molle Bag Accessories for Military Gear Bags, Small Coin Purse with Hook for Camping Hunting Shooting (Black) is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches connect with MOLLE webbing straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE straps supply a versatile way for users to pick the mounting area and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the most effective MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft equipment beginning with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many different colors and camo patterns.
About the Picowe Brand
The Picowe brand is fairly highly-rated among airsoft players. They manufacture really good quality airsoft equipment and other gear. If you have questions about their tactical gear or customer inquiries, you can find additional information on the brand’s website.
Types of Picowe MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are important to carry on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty basic in design. They are among the original designs of pouches designed to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually attached with Velcro. The flap could include a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch style. In addition to being offered from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and among the most budget friendly ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the basic mag pouches with a few modifications. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch style eliminates the flap leaving an open top to insert and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are constructed into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine tightly under tension. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE accessories so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are normally made of ABS materials.
The Picowe brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use varying types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps securely hold the magazines so you do not need to worry about losing the mag during fast motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Picowe MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches can be found in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a couple of standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most typically used variations of pistol pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create a space for you to throw empty magazines and other gear into quickly in the field. These tactical pouches are typically carried on your belt in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty mags after you reload your rifle, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the battlefield. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra security while moving with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and consists of the medical gear airsoft players require when they have to patch up a cut or wound on the field. An emergency treatment kit needs to contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create space for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own specific pouch), and other gear you might need on the airsoft field or tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft teams put to use communications and radios equipment in the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
