About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Outry Tactical MOLLE Medical Pouch, EMT First Aid Pouch, Rip-Away IFAK Medical Emergency Utility Pouch, Military Tactical Pouch for Outdoor Activities is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to pick the installation location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel location.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are managed in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the three parts of the mounting system: MOLLE straps, panels, and pouches. Installing tactical pouches is simple and quick. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the best MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in all colors and camo patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns include: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they appear like:

The Outry brand is quite highly-rated as a quality gear maker. They create very good quality airsoft equipment and other gear. You can find answers on the brand’s website if you have concerns about their airsoft pouches or consumer service questions.
Kinds Of Outry MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty basic in style. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually fastened with Velcro. In addition to being available from many tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most economical methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the standard mag pouches with a few differences. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility a lot easier and reloads faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE connections so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Outry brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps firmly hold the magazines so you do not need to think about losing the mag during fast motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Outry MOLLE Airsoft Gun Handgun Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches come in similar styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which are available in the standard design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most frequently used versions of handgun pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the same design.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all six separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) create an area for you to throw empty mags and other things into during fights. Some dump pouches also have drawstring closure tops for additional security while on the run with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and contains the equipment airsoft players need when they have to patch up a scrape or wound on the field. A first aid pack should contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else generally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own special pouch), and other equipment you may require on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft teams carry radios and communications equipment on the field. Operating a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
