About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The OneTigris MOLLE EDC Pouch & 4pcs Heavy Duty Stainless Cable Keyring EDC Keychain is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE webbing straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE straps supply a flexible way for users to pick the installation location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE straps, pouches, and panels. Installing tactical pouches is easy and fast. Just thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the attachment system works, let’s have a look at a few of the best MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camo patterns. Common pouch colors consist of: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns consist of: forest, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Have a look at the example swatches below for what they look like:

Kinds Of OneTigris MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ because they are pretty basic in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually fastened with Velcro. In addition to being readily available from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most economical methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches resemble the standard mag pouches with a couple of modifications. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch style gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to insert and take out magazines. This enables silent access and increased speed while accessing or reloading gun equipment. These mag pouches can be found in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine firmly under tension. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are typically made from ABS materials.
The OneTigris brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use varying types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t need to think about losing the mag during fast motions, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
OneTigris MOLLE Airsoft Gun Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches come in similar designs to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which come in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly used variations of handgun pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same design.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all 6 separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make a space for you to ditch empty mags and other things into quickly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring closure tops for extra security while moving with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and consists of the medical gear airsoft players require when they need to patch up a scrape or wound on the field. A first aid pack needs to contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, a number of sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other medical products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make a place for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else normally. Think of things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own unique pouch), and other gear you might need on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Lots of airsoft organizations use communications and radios devices on the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
