About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The NcSTAR NC Star CVEMT2970D, Molle EMT Pouch, Digital Camo is a tactical pouch. A lot of tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE pouches have just recently become popular in the last few years due to tactical developments and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other kinds of field gear. MOLLE straps provide a unique method for users to choose the mounting location and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area. The only restriction becomes which pouches to use and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE means Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are managed in the MOLLE management system. Here are the three parts of the mounting system: MOLLE panels, straps, and pouches. Installing tactical pouches is quick and simple. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how the gear system works, let’s have a look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can attach to your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches can be found in all colors and camouflage patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns consist of: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Check out the example swatches in the product description for what they look like:

The NcSTAR brand is fairly popular among airsoft players. They produce very good quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have concerns about their gear or customer inquiries, you can find additional information on the brand’s site.
Types of NcSTAR MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are necessary to have on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty basic in style. They are one of the initial designs of pouches created to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually attached with Velcro. The flap could feature a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch design. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget friendly ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few modifications. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to put in and remove magazines. This allows silent access and increased speed while accessing or refilling weapon gear. These mag pouches can come in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The NcSTAR brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending upon producer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to think about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
NcSTAR MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which are available in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly found versions of pistol pouches. A number of the same manufacturers that make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same design. This consists of manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are outstanding quality, functional, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. Two is usually better than one. This pouch shows this to be correct given that it saves you money from having to purchase two separate pouches. As an example, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all six individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never ever purchase pouches one at a time when you can get them together.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip retrieval pouches) create a spot for you to throw empty mags and other gear into quickly. These tactical pouches are generally carried in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty clips after reloads, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the airsoft field. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for added security while moving with a pouch full of empty rifle mags.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players need when they have to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. An emergency treatment kit should include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make space for holding tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. Think extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own specific pouch), and other gear you may need on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Lots of airsoft units employ radios and communications equipment in the field. Running a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
