About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The Leagway Multipurpose Tactical EDC Utility Gadget Pouch Molle Hip Waist Belt Bag Universal Cell Phone Holster Outdoor Military Wallet Nylon Case Camping Hiking Gear Tool Organizer (Orange) is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE pouches have just recently ended up being popular in the last several years due to tactical innovations and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military design pouches to tactical gear, tactical vests, range bags, and other kinds of military equipment. MOLLE straps provide a flexible method for users to pick the mounting area and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area. The only restriction becomes which pouches to utilize and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and describes the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the top MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft gear starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many various colors and camo patterns.

Types of Leagway MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty standard in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for extra security that is normally fastened with Velcro. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most affordable methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouch types resemble the standard mag pouches with a few modifications. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch design gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to put in and remove magazines. This allows for silent access and increased speed while reloading guns or accessing gear. These mag pouches can come in single or triple magazine holding setups.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility easier and reloads faster than ever, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE connections so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The Leagway brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cords or rubberized bungee bands (depending on manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you don’t need to think about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Leagway MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches are available in related designs to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this resilient Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most frequently found variations of handgun pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the very same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. A pair of magazines are usually better than one. This pouch proves this to be true since it saves you money from needing to purchase two separate pouches. For example, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines). Never buy pouches one at a time when you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) create a spot for you to ditch empty mags and other gear into during gunfights. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra security while moving on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and consists of the medical gear airsoft players require when they have to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. An emergency treatment kit must contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create room for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else usually. Think spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own special pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft groups employ radios and communications equipment in the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
