About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The Karrimor SF Sabre Side Pockets Pair PLCE Pouch is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military design pouches to tactical gear, airsoft vests, range bags, and other kinds of field gear. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to pick the mounting location and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area. The only limitation becomes which pouches to put to use and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are put to use in the MOLLE equipment system. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s check out some of the leading MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft equipment beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches can be found in all colors and camo patterns. Common pouch colors consist of: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns include: forest, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Have a look at the example swatches below for what they appear like:

Types of Karrimor SF MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are quite basic in style. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is typically secured with Velcro. In addition to being readily available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most inexpensive methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a couple of modifications. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design eliminates the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are constructed into the magazine pocket so that it holds the magazine securely under pressure. In order to make mag accessibility easier and mag swaps faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE accessories so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch parts are typically made of ABS components.
The Karrimor SF brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag design use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized bungee bands (depending upon maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard tug up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps firmly hold the magazines so you do not need to think about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
Karrimor SF MOLLE Airsoft Gun Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches are available in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which can be found in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several basic handgun pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this resilient Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly used variations of pistol pouches. A lot of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same style.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. Two is typically far better than one. This pouch shows this to be true because it saves you cash from needing to buy a pair of pouches. For example, the expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never purchase pouches one at a time when you can get them together.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) make an area for you to dump empty mags and other gear into rapidly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for additional security while on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players need when they need to patch up a gash or wound on the field. A first aid kit needs to include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, a number of sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create space for holding multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field supplies. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else generally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own specific pouch), and other gear you might require on the airsoft field or in a tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft groups work with communications and radios equipment on the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE attachments helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
