About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The IDOGEAR Triple Mag Pouch Open-Top Triple Kangaroo Magazine Pouch and Pistol Mag Pouch 500D Nylon Airsoft Hunting Military Gear is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical developments and inventions. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to military gear, vests, range bags, and other types of military equipment. MOLLE straps offer a unique way for users to choose the mounting location and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel location. The only limitation becomes which pouches to use and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE represents Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE management system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE pouches, panels, and straps. Mounting tactical pouches is quick and simple. Just thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the gear system works, let’s have a look at some of the most efficient MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft weapon magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camo patterns. Typical pouch colors include: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Typical pouch camouflage patterns consist of: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they look like:

Types of IDOGEAR MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ since they are quite standard in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is normally secured with Velcro. In addition to being available from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most budget friendly methods to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the basic mag pouches with a couple of alterations. As the tactical pouch name implies, this pouch design gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine tightly under stretchy bungees. In order to make mag accessibility simpler and reloads faster than ever before, this style of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are generally made of ABS construction.
The IDOGEAR brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t need to worry about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
IDOGEAR MOLLE Airsoft Gun Handgun Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which come in the standard style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a number of standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most typically used variations of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the very same style.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. Two is normally much better than one. This pouch shows this to be true considering that it saves you cash from needing to buy a pair of pouches. For instance, the cost of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six independently (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines). Never buy pouches individually which you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine recovery pouches) create a space for you to dump empty magazines and other things into rapidly. Some dump pouches also have drawstring tops for extra security while moving on the run with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK is an acronym for individual first aid kit and consists of the medical gear airsoft players need when they have to patch up a gash or wound on the field. A first aid kit should include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make a place for carrying multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field gear. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else usually. Think spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own specific pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or tactical situation.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft organizations employ radios and communications devices on the field. Operating a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
