About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The IDOGEAR Tactical Radio Pouch Molle Radio Holder for Walkie Talkies PRC 148 / 152 Radio Airsoft Military Outdoor Sports 500D Nylon is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches attach with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE straps offer a versatile way for users to select the mounting place and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are employed in the MOLLE gear system. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how it works, let’s look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft gear starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in many various colors and camouflage patterns.
About the IDOGEAR Brand
The IDOGEAR brand is fairly prominently known as a quality brand. They produce great quality airsoft pouches and other products. You can find answers on the brand’s website if you have concerns about their airsoft gear or consumer service questions.
Types of IDOGEAR MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are quite standard in design. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is usually fastened with Velcro. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical gear companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are resilient and one of the most economical ways to hold magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the basic mag pouches with a couple of alterations. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to place and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most advanced type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access a lot easier and magazine swaps faster than ever, this style of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE connections so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The IDOGEAR brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use differing types of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized tension bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and giving it a hard pull up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps safely hold the magazines so you don’t have to worry about losing the mag during quick movements, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
IDOGEAR MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches come in similar designs to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which come in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines very well with this durable Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most frequently seen versions of handgun pouches. Most of the same manufacturers which make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the same design. This includes manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are outstanding quality, functional, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combination Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. Two is generally far better than one. This pouch proves this to be accurate since it saves you cash from needing to purchase two separate pouches. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equals about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all 6 independently (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never buy pouches individually when you can get them grouped.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a mag recovery pouches) make a space for you to discard empty mags and other gear into rapidly. These tactical pouches are typically carried on your belt in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty clips after you reload your airsoft gun, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other tac gear while in the field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra security while moving with a pouch that is full.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK stands for individual first aid kit and contains the equipment airsoft players require when they have to patch up a gash or wound on the field. A first aid kit must contain the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches make space for holding multitools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else normally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other equipment you may need on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft units work with communications and radios equipment on the field. Adopting a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and family band radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
