About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The HSGI COMP-TAC Tourniquet Taco Kydex Holster is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical developments and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top choice for securing military style pouches to military gear, airsoft vests, deployment bags, and other types of military equipment. MOLLE straps provide a unique way for users to select the mounting place and position of the pouch and mount them anywhere on equipment where there is a MOLLE attachment panel area. The only limitation becomes which pouches to manage and where to position them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE represents Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and identifies the pouches, panels, and straps which are utilized in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE straps, pouches, and panels. Mounting tactical pouches is fast and easy. Merely thread the straps and snap the buttons to set them in place. Now that we know what MOLLE is and how the system works, let’s have a look at some of the best MOLLE pouches you can include in your airsoft gear beginning with airsoft gun magazine pouches.

Kinds Of HSGI MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are important to carry on your equipment for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft weapon rifle magazines. These are also called ‘standard’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty standard in design. They are one of the original styles of pouches created to carry spare magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is generally attached with Velcro. The flap might feature a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch style. In addition to being offered from many tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most affordable methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are comparable to the standard mag pouches with a few adjustments. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch design removes the flap leaving an open top to insert and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the most recent and most innovative kind of tactical mag pouches. The retention systems are built into the magazine pocket so that it carries the magazine tightly under pressure. In order to make mag accessibility easier and mag changes faster than ever before, this design of tactical pouch makes use of MOLLE accessories so it can be installed at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest. The pouch components are normally made from ABS materials.
The HSGI brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use differing kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cords or rubberized stress bands (depending on maker). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and providing a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the bungee straps firmly hold the magazines so you don’t have to be concerned about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing over things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
HSGI MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches can be found in similar styles to the rifle pouches with basic flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the standard design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several standard handgun pouches which secure airsoft weapon magazines effectively with this long lasting Velcro flip top style.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly found versions of handgun pouches. Many of the same companies which make rifle mag pouches make matching handgun magazine pouches in the exact same design.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch including both a rifle and handgun magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over purchasing all six separately (3x rifle and 3x handgun magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip recovery pouches) create a space for you to dump empty magazines and other gear into quickly in the field. These tactical pouches are usually held in a rolled up position and secured by a button or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty mags after reloads, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while on the battlefield. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for added security while moving with a filled pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft gear loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and consists of the equipment airsoft players need when they need to patch up a gash or injury on the field. A first aid pack needs to include the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, a number of sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create a place for holding multitools, folded maps, pens, and other field items. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else generally. You can carry things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other equipment you might require on the airsoft field or tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Lots of airsoft groups put to use radios and communications devices on the field. Applying a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications gear while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 series and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
