Tactical Pouch Product Details
HSGI Belt Mounted Taco
This unique belt mounted pouch uses injection molded polymer sides, Cordura front and back, and shock cord lacing to lock just about any rifle magazine into place. USGI, HK, PMAG, ARC, FAL, AK 30/ 40, LR20 and M14 magazines are all held securely and deployed easily and silently on demand. The TACO even works for certain radios, flash bangs and smoke grenades and provides this versatility while taking up only 3″ horizontal inches on your belt. About MOLLE Pouches and Gear
The HSGI Belt Mounted Taco is a tactical pouch. Many tactical pouches attach with MOLLE snap straps and hook-and-loop style accessories. MOLLE straps provide a flexible way for users to pick the mounting location and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE accessory panel area.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE represents Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and defines the pouches, panels, and straps which are employed in the MOLLE management system. Here are the 3 parts of the installing system: MOLLE pouches, panels, and straps. Mounting tactical pouches is easy and fast. Simply thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the gear system works, let’s take a look at some of the most functional MOLLE pouches you can put on your airsoft gear starting with airsoft weapon mag pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches are available in all colors and camouflage patterns. Typical pouch colors consist of: black, tan, OD green (olive drab), foliage green (sage), ranger green, and grey. Common pouch camouflage patterns include: woodland, desert, A-TACs, Multicam, ACU (Army Combat Uniform), digital, and others. Take a look at the example swatches below for what they appear like:
About the HSGI Brand
The HSGI brand is fairly popular among airsoft players. They manufacture really good quality airsoft pouches and other gear. If you have questions about their tactical pouches or customer support inquiries, you can find additional information on the brand’s website.
Types of HSGI MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to have on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other types of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are also called ‘basic’ pouches or simply ‘mag pouches’ since they are pretty basic in design. They are one of the initial designs of pouches designed to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for included security that is normally attached with Velcro. The flap might include a plastic side-release buckle depending upon pouch style. In addition to being offered from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, basic rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most affordable methods to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few adjustments. As the tactical pouch name indicates, this pouch style gets rid of the flap leaving an open top to place and remove magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the latest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag accessibility a lot easier and reloads faster than before, this design of tactical pouch utilizes MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The HSGI brand also makes retention mag pouches like the FastMag style use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and offer security including bungee cables or rubberized stress bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the tension straps safely hold the magazines so you don’t have to think about losing the mag during fast movements, crawling, climbing up things, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
HSGI MOLLE Airsoft Weapon Handgun Magazine Pouches
Handgun magazine pouches come in similar styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention designs of tactical pouches. The pistol magazine pouches which are available in the basic design have a Velcro flap. Condor makes a few basic pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines very well with this resilient Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention handgun pouches are the most commonly found versions of pistol pouches. Many of the same manufacturers that make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the same style. This includes companies like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch styles are exceptional quality, usable, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired design of pouch featuring both a rifle and handgun magazine. A pair of mags are usually better than one. This pouch shows this to be true considering that it saves you cash from needing to buy two separate pouches. For example, the expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) savings over buying all six separately (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines). Never buy pouches separately which you can get them as a group.
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a magazine retrieval pouches) make a space for you to throw empty mags and other things into quickly. These tactical pouches are normally carried on tactical belts in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be quickly unrolled to increase in size and hold empty clips after you reload your airsoft gun, extra airsoft BBs/shells, and other tactical gear while in the airsoft field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for added security while moving with a full pouch.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK means individual first aid kit and consists of the equipment airsoft players require when they need to patch up a scrape or wound on the field. A first aid pack needs to contain the following items: medical tape or fabric tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze, several sterile gauze pads, antibacterial wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, trauma shears, tweezers, and Other items.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create a place for carrying a Leatherman, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field gear. These pouches are basic use pouches for odds and ends which don’t go anywhere else usually. You can carry things like spare airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they do not have their own specific pouch), and other equipment you may need on the airsoft field or in a tactical scenario.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Attachments
Many airsoft organizations use radios and communications equipment in the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These small radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and portable radios like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
