About MOLLE Pouches and Equipment
The HOUTBY Water Bottle Pouch Holder Bag for Tactical Military MOLLE Hiking Camping Travel Sports is a tactical pouch. Most tactical pouches connect with MOLLE straps and hook-and-loop design attachments. MOLLE pouches have just recently become popular in the last several years due to tactical innovations and gear efficiency focused products. They are the top option for securing military design pouches to military gear, vests, deployment bags, and other kinds of field gear. MOLLE straps offer a flexible way for users to select the mounting place and position of the pouch and install them anywhere on gear where there is a MOLLE attachment panel location. The only constraint becomes which pouches to employ and where to put them.
What is MOLLE?
MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment and refers to the pouches, panels, and straps which are used in the MOLLE gear system. Here are the 3 parts of the mounting system: MOLLE pouches, panels, and straps. Installing tactical pouches is simple and quick. Simply thread the straps and snap the buttons to secure them in place. Now that we understand what MOLLE is and how the attachment system works, let’s take a look at a few of the most efficient MOLLE pouches you can add to your airsoft equipment starting with airsoft gun magazine pouches.
Colors of MOLLE Pouches and Camouflage Patterns
MOLLE tactical pouches come in lots of different colors and camo patterns.

Kinds Of HOUTBY MOLLE Pouches
Standard Rifle Magazine Pouches
Rifle magazines are essential to have on your gear for holding M4/AR -15, AK-47, and other kinds of airsoft gun rifle magazines. These are usually called ‘basic’ pouches or just ‘mag pouches’ due to the fact that they are pretty basic in style. They are one of the original designs of pouches created to carry extra magazines with you in the field. The magazines are secured inside the pouch with a top flap for added security that is generally attached with Velcro. The flap might include a plastic side-release buckle depending on pouch style. In addition to being available from lots of tactical equipment companies in the airsoft industry, standard rifle magazine pouches are durable and one of the most cost effective ways to carry magazines.
Tactical Open Top Magazine Pouches
Open top magazine pouches are similar to the standard mag pouches with a few alterations. As the tactical pouch name suggests, this pouch style removes the flap leaving an open top to insert and take out magazines.
Open Top MOLLE Magazine Pouches with Retention
Open top magazine pouches with retention systems are the newest and most sophisticated type of tactical mag pouches. In order to make mag access a lot easier and reloads faster than before, this design of tactical pouch uses MOLLE attachments so it can be mounted at any angle on a MOLLE tactical vest.
The HOUTBY brand also makes retention magazine pouches like the FastMag design use varying kinds of retention to grip the magazines and provide security including bungee cables or rubberized bungee bands (depending upon manufacturer). Magazines are quickly reloadable by indexing the magazine and using a hard yank up out of the pouch. While kept in the holder, the stress straps securely hold the magazines so you do not need to worry about losing the mag during quick motions, crawling, climbing, or maneuvers in training or on the airsoft field.
HOUTBY MOLLE Airsoft Gun Pistol Magazine Pouches
Pistol magazine pouches are available in related styles to the rifle pouches with standard flip top, open top, and open top with retention styles of tactical pouches. The handgun magazine pouches which can be found in the basic style have a Velcro flap. Condor makes several standard pistol pouches which secure airsoft gun magazines effectively with this resilient Velcro flip top design.
The open top and open top with retention pistol pouches are the most commonly chosen versions of handgun pouches. A number of the same companies that make rifle mag pouches make matching pistol magazine pouches in the same design. This includes manufacturers like Blue Force Gear, and High Speed Gear. Both of their rifle mag pouch designs are excellent quality, functional, and are replicated by airsoft pouch companies.
Combo Magazine Tactical Pouches Kangaroo, Stacker, and Hybrid
Kangaroo tactical pouches are a paired style of pouch featuring both a rifle and pistol magazine. The expense of one triple mag kangaroo pouch equates to about a seventy-five percent (75%) cost savings over buying all 6 individually (3x rifle and 3x pistol magazines).
Tactical Dump Pouches
Dump pouches (a.k.a clip recovery pouches) create a space for you to discard empty magazines and other things into quickly in the field. These tactical pouches are typically carried on tactical belts in a rolled up position and secured by a snap or strap. The pouch can be rapidly unrolled to expand in size and hold empty mags after reloads, additional airsoft BBs/shells, and other tac gear while in the field. Some dump pouches even have drawstring tops for extra closure security while moving with a pouch full of empty mags.
Tactical IFAK Medical MOLLE Pouches
Medical pouches are a must have for an airsoft equipment loadout. IFAK represents individual first aid kit and includes the medical gear airsoft players need when they need to patch up a scrape or injury on the field. A first aid kit needs to include the following items: medical tape or cloth tape, Band-Aids or adhesive bandages, Ibuprofen or Aspirin, rolled gauze bandages, several sterile gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, folding CPR mask or breath barrier, non-latex gloves, cutting shears, tweezers, and Other products.
MOLLE Admin Pouches
Admin pouches create space for carrying tools, folded maps, pens, compasses, and other field items. These pouches are general use pouches for odds and ends which do not go anywhere else generally. Think of things like extra airsoft BB bags, red dead rags, multitools (if they don’t have their own unique pouch), and other gear you may require on the airsoft field or in a tactical circumstance.
Tactical Radio Pouches with MOLLE Accessories
Many airsoft teams talk on communications and radios equipment in the field. Using a radio pouch with MOLLE accessories helps you secure your communications equipment while moving. These little radio pouches will hold most walkie-talkies and radio handsets like the Motorola TALKABOUT T800 models and Baofeng UV-5R VHR radios.
